Milbank is a town located in northeast South Dakota with a population of 3,640 and is located in Grant County which has a population of 7,847. Milbank is located 10 miles from Big Stone Lake and is surrounded by farmland.

Incorporated in 1894, the city is governed by a Mayor-Council form of government. Mayor and Councilmen are elected to a two year term.

The Mayor of Milbank is Dale Aesoph and Council members are: Ward one - Steve Wiener and Joel Foster. Ward two - Don Larson and Mike Mach. Ward three - Scott Hoeke and Lane Lindquist.
