Mayor and City Council

Milbank is governed by a Mayor and a six member City Council. The City Council meets the second Monday of each month at 7:00 pm at the Visitor’s Center, 1001 East Fourth Avenue. All other special meetings are duly posted.

Citizens are welcome to attend City Council meetings if you have a question about a particular issue or would just like to be aware of what is happening in the City.



Mayor

Dale Aesoph

has served as Mayor since 2001.

Prior to 2001, Aesoph served as Ward 1 Councilman since 1976.



City Council
Milbank is divided into three wards. Each ward is represented by two council members. The City Council has staggered four year terms, with three seats up for election, one from each ward.

Ward 1
Steve Weiner
has been on the Council since 1998.
He serves as the Water Department Councilman.
Joel Foster
joined the Council in 2001 working with the Planning & Zoning Commission and Property Standards Committee.

Ward 2
Don Larson
has been on the Council since 1997 and oversees the Rubble Site & Wastewater Departments.
Mike Mach
began his term in 2004. He oversees the
Airport and Fire Department.

Ward 3
Scott Hoeke
was appointed onto the Council in 2004. He oversees the Street, Park, and Cemetery Departments.
Lane Lindquist
has served on the Council since 2001 and works with the Police Department.
