The Milbank Fire & Rescue is a volunteer department that consists of 36 members. The Fire Department originated in 1905 under the direction of Chief E.H. Benedict. In 1985, Rescue was added by Chief Jim Berkner. Currently the fire department’s leadership team consists of one fire chief, two assistant chiefs, and six captains.

 

Fire Siren and Storm/Tornado Siren

(keep in mind these sirens rotate on their poles)

The Fire siren is a wavering tone for 15 seconds or less.

The Storm siren is a steady blast for a long duration and extended period of time.

 

Fire & Rescue Memorial can be found along HWY 12 across from the Milbank Visitor Center.
